Fundraising gaming marathon, Gameblast 2026

Friday 27th February 2026

Gameblast is a 24-hour gaming marathon designed to inspire independence and raise funds for the charity Special Effect and William Merritt Centre.

Both charities are seeking innovative ways for disabled gamers to access technology. Access to gaming is a stepping stone to combating social isolation. It provides the tools to access technology that aids employment and independent living.

William Merritt Centre proudly joined GameBlast in 2015, and over the past decade, we have raised an impressive £32,000 for Special Effect. Every February, the Centre transforms into an accessible gaming hub, welcoming over 40 passionate supporters and fundraisers to game for 24 hours, united in the mission to raise vital funds for Special Effect and William Merritt Centre. Check out our 10th anniversary highlights!

We are also looking for raffle prizes. Please contact Maxine at mpickard@wmdlc.co.uk if you can help us.
