Donate & join in

We are grateful for all donations, however small. They make a real difference and help us to continue our work serving people with disabilities and long-term conditions across Yorkshire. If you would like to make a one-off donation, please see how to do this under the one-off donation tab below.  If you would like to find out about our new membership scheme, please click on the Membership scheme tab

One-off donation

If you would like to make a one-off donation to William Merritt Disabled Living Centre, please use the form below to donate and pay online.

1. You should pay enough tax to cover the amount reclaimed by the William Merritt Disabled Living Centre on your giving. Relevant tax is any income tax (at whatever rate) or capital gains tax. It you stop being a taxpayer, or do not pay enough tax, you should notify us. If too much tax is recovered on your giving, you will be liable to refund HMRC.
2. Please notify us if you change your name or address.
3. You are entitled to cancel this declaration at any time. Simply notify us, preferably in writing, if you wish to do so. Unless and until you cancel your declaration, we will continue to reclaim tax on all your giving.
4. If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.

Alternatively, call us on 0113 350 89 89 or email accounts@wmdlc.org to talk to us about donating in a different way.

  2. Receive our quarterly newsletter
  3. Tour of the Centre for up to 8 people – to be arranged at a mutually convenient date.
  4. Receive a members only monthly email “Who you’ve helped this month.”
  5. Voting rights if you attend our AGM – this applies after 6 months’ membership (in the case of a corporate partner, one employee has this right).

Silver

All Bronze benefits plus

  1. Your name in a members’ section on our website in the Silver category. If it is a corporate member, or a personal donation made through a company/partnership, a logo can be included as well.  This will be done as soon as website updates are scheduled.

Gold

All Silver benefits plus

  1. Your name in the more prominent Gold members’ section on our website
  2. Recognition in the WMDLC annual report – this applies after 6 months’ membership, and will appear in the next annual report after that.
  3. Free use of a meeting room at the Centre once a year – after 6 months’ membership.

What if I cannot commit to regular giving?

Some people do not have regular, predictable income and may wish to become a member through a one-off donation. We equally appreciate and value this kind of contribution.

It is done by conferring Bronze membership lasting at least a year (ie £60 is the minimum one-off donation under this provision). The membership will then last for as long as the initial donation, if it had been given in £5 amounts monthly.
