When you book and pay for one of our courses you will be offered access to our secure portal containing resources for trainers, professionals and carers. The resources include:
- Workbooks for moving and handling including legal aspects and risk assessments.
- A copy of the course slides (from the 5-day course)
- Exercises for you to use if you deliver training in your own workplace
- Lesson plans and other documents to help you as a trainer
- Videos showing best practice in moving and handling in a variety of settings
- Useful links to other organisations who are expert in this area.
Our terms
The resources within the Portal are reference tools only to support you in the training you have attended or have booked to attend in the future. Please do not use these documents for any other purpose eg: for your own coursework, or to deliver your own training. Please only use our resources to help you develop your own materials. Copyright law allows for quotes to be lifted or small sections of our material to be used in other documents. If you choose to do this, William Merritt Disabled Living Centre or the original author must be acknowledged in all cases. You must not pass our materials to any 3rd party or use them in a publication for sale.
Room hire
Here at the Centre, we offer meeting room hire with equipment so you can train your own staff in moving and handling techniques. This facility is offered to trainers who have completed our 5-day moving and handling course.
