Wheelchair skills training delivered by Experience Community
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Experience Community to deliver their free tailored wheelchair skills course, at William Merritt Centre, Rodley.
This course is designed for self-propelling manual wheelchair users, over the age of 18, of all abilities, to develop and navigate everyday situations to build confidence and gain independence,

Topics include*:
- Appropriate pushing techniques
- Manoeuvring in tight spaces
- Navigating through doors
- Negotiating slopes, steps and challenging terrain
*Trainers can also develop the course to tailor to your needs
The course progresses at a comfortable pace over six sessions, gradually building confidence and introducing new elements when participants are ready.
The course is led by disabled staff with lived experience of wheelchair use with support of non-disabled staff and volunteers to ensure a safe experience during the course.
Sessions are delivered for a 6 week block which can be either a morning or afternoon session.
